Joseph Atem Bul

Joseph serves as Data Sciences Expert at Akec Consulting. Mr. Bul received a Bachelor of Science (Hon.) in Mathematical Statistics from University of Nairobi (Kenya), a Master of Management of Development from University of Turin (Italy), and Master of Science in Economics from University of Juba (South Sudan). He is completing his Doctoral Studies in Applied Statistics at the University of Nairobi (Kenya) in AI and Machine Learning.

Atem is currently based at the Bank of South Sudan as the Coordinator of World Bank’s Project on “Strengthening South Sudan’s Financial Management’, and as National Statistics Consultant for United Nation Development Projects (UNDP), and Infrastructure Project Design and Drafting Consultant for AIAL Group.

Previously, Mr. Bul served as Project Manager for Statistical Capacity Building Project at the World Bank and National Bureau of Statistics (South Sudan) from 2014 to 2020, Consultant – Statistician at UN Women and Disarmament Demobilization and Rehabilitation Commission (South Sudan), among other engagements.

Mr. Atem Bul is a member of the Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA) – (UK), Africa Mathematical Union Focal Person for South Sudan, and the founding Deputy Dean, School of Mathematics, University of Juba.
